Who we are
SIB Community Heat is a pioneering project to support decarbonisation in areas facing barriers to access to government initiatives or commercial attraction. Our approach is community-centred, ensuring the affordability of bills, warm buildings and energy security for all. This includes the consideration of community assets (libraries, hospitals, village halls), groups that face barriers socially, financially or geographically and long-term sustainability to support the navigation of an uncertain policy landscape.

Why is SIB Community Heat important?
SIB has made a strategic commitment to Energy Resilience and we want to support communities meet the government’s Clean Power targets for 2035

SIB Community Heat’s Community-centred approach
Community-centred is an umbrella term to describe ways in which we design, develop and deliver projects ‘with, by, for and of’ communities
