Key Fund
Key Fund provides loans, sometimes combined with grants, in sums of between £5,000 and £150,000 to support the development and growth of community and social enterprises operating in the North and Midlands.
We invest in the community and social enterprises that have traditionally been excluded; turned down by mainstream banks and building societies. Particularly those in disadvantaged areas. Key Fund believes in the power of people to find solutions to the challenges facing their communities.
Livv Investment
Livv Investment is part of Livv Housing Group who are committed to creating positive impact and building flourishing communities. This includes ongoing support for social sector organisations so that they can do more to provide opportunities to help our communities flourish and enhance people’s lives.
Our Livv and Flourish fund provides investment by way of loans with the opportunity for a grant element to social enterprises and charities based in or having a demonstrable impact in Livv communities –mainly Liverpool City Region and local authority areas where Livv has existing housing stock or is in the process of developing low-cost housing.
Loans for Enlightened Agriculture Programme
The Loans for Enlightened Agriculture Programme (“LEAP”), developed by the Real Farming Trust, is a new model for financing and supporting food and farming enterprises that puts people and the biosphere at the heart of our food system. LEAP provides a critical next step for community based agroecological enterprises that have relied on grant funding to date and have nowhere to go to finance their onward development.
NatWest Social & Community Capital
NatWest has a strong heritage supporting community-based businesses. Through NatWest Social & Community Capital (S&CC), we are building on that support, helping potential and existing social entrepreneurs who are unable to access sufficient finance through mainstream channels.
We will look to support viable charities, social enterprises, community interest companies and co-operatives who are sustainable, deliver high levels of social value and are investment ready.
Through the independent charity NatWest Social & Community Capital is offering Loan Funding of between £30,000 and £750,000 depending on the type of organisation, to enable Social Enterprises to gain the finance they need to expand their market.
There is no deadline to apply, and applications for loan funding are open all year round.

We take an impact-first approach to Social Investment, starting with the social or environmental need and tailoring the investment to best suit the needs of the investee. We offer investments between £100k and £2m across a wide range of products and instruments, and recycle returns.
