Rob Benfield joins Social Investment Business as Director of Enterprise and Development from 7 January 2019.
Prior to joining Social Investment Business, Rob was a member of the Senior Management Team of the UK microfinance organisation Fair Finance, where he helped it to expand nationally and treble in size over a five year period.
The earlier parts of Rob’s career were spent at HSBC where he worked in a number of roles across retail, commercial and corporate banking. This included working internationally to launch financial products in emerging markets.
Across both commercial and social sectors Rob has a proven track record of creating and delivering new products and services designed and focussed around customer needs.
Nick Temple, Chief Executive of Social Investment Business said:
“Rob brings the combination of an enterprising mindset, investment know-how and strong commitment to our social mission that we were looking for. He also brings experience not only from mainstream corporate finance but also from lending to small businesses in communities across the country.
The board and I are delighted that Rob is joining the team, and that he will strengthen our ability to play a more active and innovative role in social investment in coming years"
Filling the newly created Director of Enterprise and Development position, Rob will oversee business development, new fund development, and the transition of new business activity into operational practice.
