Nick Temple has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Social Investment Business. He will take up his position in January 2018.
Nick joins Social Investment Business after six years as Deputy Chief Executive of Social Enterprise UK, the biggest network of social enterprises in the UK.
During this time, Nick has helped Social Enterprise UK more than treble its membership numbers, developed the Buy Social Corporate Challenge, led for the organisation on healthcare and research and he also chairs the Social Investment Forum.
Prior to this, Nick worked with organisations including the British Council and UnLtd, and before that was Director of Policy and Communications at the School for Social Entrepreneurs.
Nick said:
“I am tremendously excited to be joining Social Investment Business and cannot wait to get started. Since 2002 it has played a crucial role in the development and growth of social investment and has helped thousands of organisations improve people’s lives.
“I am joining at a very important time. We need to make social investment work for more charities and social enterprises and Social Investment Business is brilliantly placed to test innovative approaches and explore new partnerships that can help tackle the big challenges we face as a country.”
“I have been privileged to work with a fantastic team at Social Enterprise UK over the last six years and am now looking forward to working with the SIB team and board.”
Hazel Blears, Chair of Social Investment Business, said:
“Nick’s knowledge and understanding of social enterprise and social investment is second to none and I am absolutely delighted that he will be our next Chief Executive.”
“I am looking forward to working with Nick to take our business from strength to strength as we move into a new phase of development and use more of our own money to test new approaches to social investment that help more organisations improve people’s lives.”
