Social Investment Business announces a new opportunity for charities and social enterprises in the East London area interested in receiving finance and business support.
Through meeting, and holding learning and design workshops with charities and social enterprises we have become increasingly aware of the need to reassess the type of products and services most relevant to best support the delivery of increased impact in local communities.
As a result, we are launching a co-design call for interested charities and social enterprises operating in East London and/or for the benefit of East London communities. This is an opportunity for you to both receive money and support, but also input into the design of a new initiative - the East London Impact Fund (ELIF).
Initially we are looking to work with five organisations who can pitch for money, get support, and be ‘championed’ by us – that means we will help with introductions and profile-raising as part of the package of support. What we ask for in return is simply for us to learn first hand from working with you. The available money can be as a loan or, in some cases, a grant.
Following on from this, we aim to then revise and adapt our thinking to develop a new Fund based on what we learn: we hope this will allow social investment to be better used to help organisations improve people’s lives and the communities they live and work in.
Organisations that apply will have to be located or operating in at least one of the following boroughs of East London:
- Tower Hamlets
- Barking and Dagenham
- Waltham Forest
How do you apply?
If your charity or social enterprise is in one of the eligible boroughs mentioned above and you would like to be involved, then please:
- Download and read the Call for Proposals document below carefully.
- Ready your application (formats can include video, voice note, slideshow).
- Send your application to firstname.lastname@example.org before the deadline - Friday 19th October (midnight)
At any stage in the process, please don’t hesitate to give us a call if something is unclear or if you want to talk it through with someone. We would be very happy to speak to you about it. Call us on 020 3096 7900
If you would like to provide input into the design of ELIF but would not like to submit a proposal to be championed, you can submit written suggestions by email to email@example.com
